At Kingswood Primary School we want to inspire our children to become curious, confident and creative adults, who are passionate and fascinated about the world and its people.
We want our children to have an interest and understanding of diverse places, people, resources and natural and human environments, together with a deep understanding of the Earth’s key physical and human processes.
Our geography curriculum is taught in a cross curricular way linking to key topics throughout the year. Our teachers are equipped with resources and tools to support progression of skills throughout year groups and across a child's primary education.
Children are always given the chance to share their understandings at the beginning of a topic and have a chance to voice want they’d like to find out. The local area is utilised with extensive opportunities for learning outside the classroom embedded in practice.
Our geography curriculum will lead pupils to be enthusiastic Geography learners, evidenced in a range of ways, including pupil voice and their work.
Upon leaving Kingswood Primary School to embark on their journey to Key Stage 3 learning, children will be equipped with the skills, knowledge and understanding to confidently continue their geography learning journey.
